Hanna Institute to offer free training on mitigating trauma
“Collective trauma is often unrecognized or untreated,” said Marissa La Brecque, director of Hanna Institute.“We are passionate about offering spaces to recognize trauma and its effects—and even more importantly,offering the resources and skills to change your relationship to your experiences and connect with others.
Construction trades program offers free training in Sonoma
Work and career opportunities are often excellent for our graduates. The key is to get (ourgraduates) into an apprenticeship and then, of course, for them to do well in it, says FrankCuneo of North Bay TIP.
Hanna Center in Sonoma opens recreational hall for teenagers
“When I looked at the Rec Hall, I saw how this space could serve an underserved population of our community—the local teens,” said Joe Petersen, recreation and camp manager for Hanna Center.

Hanna’s Fundraising Gala Celebrating 75 Years in Sonoma
Hanna Center Auditorium, 17000 Arnold Drive, Sonoma, CA 95476Since 1945, Hanna has walked with more than 4,000 youth on their healing journeys. Our youth, Hanna staff members that have served them, and you, our community, deserve a celebration for this achievement. So, we invite you to dust off your suits and gowns and join us for a sparkling evening of inspiring stories, uplifting entertainment, and dazzling dancing. With the growth of our new programs and much-needed services, we are more inspired than ever. Let’s come together and toast our milestone while raising funds to help light the way for our next 75 years of service.
Trade Apprenticeship Readiness Program
Hanna Center Auditorium, 17000 Arnold Drive, Sonoma, CANorth Bay TIP is a Certificated Apprenticeship Readiness Program that will introduce you to apprenticeship in the many building and construction trades. This program will allow you to explore many trades and prepare you with the skills and confidence needed to succussfully apply and enter a state registered trade apprenticeship that is right for you!
Career Expo
Hanna Center is inviting the community to a Career Expo on our campus on May 1 from 2 to 4 p.m.
Sonoma-area youth, ages 16-26, and their families are encouraged to attend the free event, which will feature nearly 30 exhibitors, all local employers representing a wide variety of career options.

We’re probably the only high school that is teaching these skills with a real scale-type model; one that the students can work on and learn from, using their hands.

The biggest thing I got out of Hanna was learning how to take time to assess and make choices for my life going forward. I was able to gain mentorship and guidance from the teachers and staff within Hanna, which helped me make big decisions in my life moving forward.

I was with Hanna for five total years, graduating in 2017. During my stay, I was fortunate to have many staff and peers who really believed in me and pushed me to improve. One major skill I learned at Hanna is time management which has helped me be productive since leaving.
Victor Paredes
Idway into his freshman year at Vallejo High School in 2019, Victor Paredes’s mom pulled him out, fearing for his safety after learning he had joined a gang. “My mom wanted me to go to school there so I could be with my sisters,” Victor explains.

“In high school, I had been drinking and smoking, getting into trouble. I eventually got into treatment, then moved to Hanna at age 17 and graduated the following year.
