Raising The Barn Roof To Support Worthy Programs At Hanna

The evening of Saturday July 9th, 2016 was warm and filled with laughter as friends, family and local supporters lined up to register for our 3rd annual fundraising BBQ and auction here at Hanna.

“We’re on our way to the FFA [Future Farmers Of America] ” was the evening’s theme and show-cased the Ag programs growing success, as it introduces the boys at Hanna to life on the land. Many of our boys come from urban neighborhoods and have limited, if any, experience or knowledge of agriculture.

The Ag and Vocational Arts programs open doors for boys to learn such things as leadership skills, and practical applications of science, technology, ranch management, sustainability and resource cultivation, environmental protection and conservation, and meteorology–especially as it relates to climate. It also fosters community service opportunities and expansion of employment prospects.

Over the course of the evening guests were treated to tri-tip and chicken barbeque, beverages and a live and silent auction. Hanna boys mingled and talked with guests, sharing their experiences in the program.

At the end of the evening more than $100,000 was raised to further support these worthy programs, giving our boys hope for their futures. Yes! We’re definitely on our way to the FFA! And a hearty thank you to every one who came out to support us!
