Connor, a self-described “redneck from Mendocino County,” is a recent participant in Hanna Center’s new residential Transitional Age Youth (TAY) Program, which launched in April of 2023. Connor graduated high school early in March of 2023 and was living in a group home when his social worker referred him to the program.

Finding My Way: How Hanna Center Changed My Life

Looking back on my life and how things could have turned out very differently, it’s hard to believe how far I’ve come. Today, I am a 29-year-old combat engineer and drill sergeant in the U.S. Army. My journey hasn’t been easy, but I owe much of my success to a place that gave me a second chance when I needed it most: Hanna Center.
