Sophia Precious Unciano, Hanna Academy’s first female student, continues to inspire with her journey of resilience and self-discovery. Her story—now featured in the Sonoma Index-Tribune and Press Democrat—highlights how a passion for welding, paired with a trauma-informed education, helped her build a new path forward.
With the support of Hanna’s Career Technical Education program, Sophia developed her skills, secured an internship through her own initiative, and is now working with Mellinger Engineering. Her determination and growth reflect the core of Hanna’s mission: creating opportunities where students can thrive.
