Mayra Alvarez Mozqueda

Associate Marriage and Family Therapist

Mayra earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Sonoma State University and gained early experience through volunteer work. Her academic training includes a focus on crisis intervention and trauma-informed care .Mayra earned her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of San Francisco and is currently pursuing licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).

As a bilingual and bicultural AMFT and APCC, Mayra is deeply passionate about giving back to her community and fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for her clients. Mayra is committed to helping individuals and families improve their mental and behavioral health through accessible, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed counseling services. Mayra’s clinical work focuses on enhancing insight, building adaptive coping skills, and supporting lasting improvements in mental and behavioral health. Mayra utilizes a multi-model approach that includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Play Therapy, and Narrative Therapy.
