Four Questions: Megan McQueeny Coordinator

Question 1: What do you do here at Hanna? — How long have you been at Hanna and what motivates you back every day?
I am a Coordinator and I oversee Mt. Carmel Cottage and Mt. Alverno Cottage. I have been here over 2 years. I am motivated to come back because of the relationships I have built here; with the boys and staff. Sometimes the work we do is challenging but Hanna is not a place I call just a job- I promised myself I would never work a day in my life and Hanna meets that promise.

Question 2: What’s your favorite quote and why?
I love most things Gandhi says but today it would be: “Fortune favors the brave”. I was watching Planet Earth recently and the narrator said it in his epic British accent and I can’t get it out of my head! Bravery can lead you to so many great things in life!

Question 3: What or who most inspires you?
Gandhi inspires me and acts of kindness and bravery.

Question 4: What’s your most cherished memory from your work here at Hanna?
I have so many great memories. I remember when I first started working here and I was playing soccer with the boys and we were just laughing and having a great time and I remember having a “moment” thinking, “I am going to be here a while.”
