Chris Jones Named Chief Development Officer for Hanna Center
Hanna Center is pleased to announce that Chris Jones will be joining the organization as Chief Development Officer. In his new role, Chris will lead Hanna’s fundraising and communications efforts, creating strategies and initiatives that will further promote the organization’s goals and mission. Chris Jones succeeds Kris Van Giesen, who left Hanna in September 2015, after 10+ years of service.
Originally from the Bay Area, Chris’ stellar career has taken him to Los Angeles, Seattle and Redmond prior to his return to “home turf”. He brings a lengthy record of fundraising excellence to Hanna, most recently as Vice President of Development at Oakland-based Fair Trade USA. In his position at Fair Trade USA, Chris successfully launched a $25 million capital campaign to scale Fair Trade globally and spearheaded new annual fund and major giving programs. Earlier in his career, Chris’ talents were instrumental in garnering significant funds for the San Francisco-based not-for-profit Hispanic Scholarship Fund.
I’m thrilled to be taking the reins of Hanna’s Development team,” says Chris. “For more than 70 years, this organization has been doing outstanding work for those less fortunate. I’m honored to be a part of such a great organization and look forward to expanding Hanna’s mission further.”
Hanna Center Executive Director Brian Farragher comments, “We’re thrilled to welcome Chris to our team. His experience will be an integral part of Hanna’s future as the organization continues to grow.”
