Since 1945, Hanna has walked with more than 4,000 youth on their healing journeys. In recognition of this momentous anniversary, they are bringing together youth, staff members, and incredible supporters for a special celebration on Saturday, April 20th, for a sparkling evening of inspiring stories, uplifting entertainment, and dazzling dancing.
We have been so fortunate to have the McNeelys’ support in this monumental year as we’ve opened the campus to the community and created new programs like our Community Mental Health Hub,” said Marisa Binder, vice president of development for Hanna Center.
“Collective trauma is often unrecognized or untreated,” said Marissa La Brecque, director of Hanna Institute.“We are passionate about offering spaces to recognize trauma and its effects—and even more importantly,offering the resources and skills to change your relationship to your experiences and connect with others.
Work and career opportunities are often excellent for our graduates. The key is to get (ourgraduates) into an apprenticeship and then, of course, for them to do well in it, says FrankCuneo of North Bay TIP.
“When I looked at the Rec Hall, I saw how this space could serve an underserved population of our community—the local teens,” said Joe Petersen, recreation and camp manager for Hanna Center.
“We truly wanted a place where all our community members felt they belonged, and that just happened to be here on our beautiful campus,” said Leslie Petersen vice president of contracts and business development at Hanna Center.
“Our plan is to work with the school district’s wellness team to identify those students with the highest level of need, and prioritize them,”

In the first quarter of the school year, our goal in history class was to educate students on Manifest Destiny and explore the historical interactions between Americans and Mexicans.
