Long-time CBS anchor, Wendy Tokuda, came out to Hanna on January 27th to shoot an interview for a Students Rising Above segment on one of our amazing young men, Fernando. Despite the odds Fernando has qualified for a 4-year college scholarship through Students Rising Above.

Looking back on my life and how things could have turned out very differently, it’s hard to believe how far I’ve come. Today, I am a 29-year-old combat engineer and drill sergeant in the U.S. Army.
